Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

More than anything, I am thankful for the birth of the Christ.

I am thankful and grateful for his great sacrifice and words of truth that have led millions to salvation and grace.  I am thankful to God who showed His love by the sacrifice of His Son in the great hopes that people would listen and follow the commandment to love one another, the only hope for our world.  Jesus was humble and lived a simple life.  He lived to teach and help others, and taught us that a life spent in accumulating wealth and possessions was not just foolish, but wrong.  He taught us to spend our lives in the service of others.  He taught that true love is not a warm fuzzy feeling, but an act of great sacrifice, which explains why most marriages never work.  He taught us to love and pray for our enemies, which does not mean to go give them a big hug, but to stop vengeful acts that bring you down to their level or below.  He told us to forgive those that don’t deserve it and this does not mean you allow someone to do wrong, but if they truly repent, you allow them back into your life or society without reproach.

I am thankful that when I feel alone or unloved Jesus told me to remember that when the world hated you that it hated him first.  The knowledge that I am indeed in good company, comforts me greatly.  Thank you God, in the name of Jesus, for another day.

Weekly Photo Challenge: BIG

Jesus has been the biggest hope and salvation this world has ever seen.  When it comes to the biggest difference to humanity, there is nothing that can challenge The Golden Rule and the stark simplicity and truth of concept.  When I think of big, I think of the big sacrifice one man of God made to save the world from themselves with the simple commandment of “Love One Another.”

Poetry Inside of Me

I have been writing poetry since I was a child.  I think that this is why I love songs so much.  The best of both worlds.  Poetry and music!  I have always wanted to record some of my music, or maybe get someone else to record it.  As well I do have to get a poetry book out, for the heck of it.  Some days I get up and it just comes pouring out of me.  I am a natural writer, and do write a lot.  I can’t figure why I procrastinate when it comes to any of my blogs.  This one just squirted out so I decided to post it right away.  I used to be paranoid about someone stealing my ideas even though I know the artist automatically retains the rights to his creations.  Now with these blogs, it automatically puts the date of when you publish your work publicly so as to remove any doubt of who the original creator is should someone try to take a song or poem that you wrote.  I used to send everything to the be copyrighted and that got expensive.

GET IT

We are here:
to live & learn, to laugh & cry
to love & hate to suffer & die.
Our life, of course, is not a test
to see if we can be the best.
But gives our God the way to heal
to hug someone, to make a meal.
We’re who we are, I don’t know why
that some are mean and other’s shy.
Make no mistake, that person’s nod
is really from the living God.
So any cruelty on a whim
is being done direct to Him.

Organic Gardens = Too Many Varmints

I will gladly take the worms

and bugs amidst the sighs,

to know I grow the purest things

that won’t sit on my thighs!

We have really been having a scorcher all over the USA.  Hopefully we will cool off soon and get much needed rain to put out all the wildfires and keep our gardens growing.  Dearborn Michigan was over 100° for the heat index a few days ago, and I know we were one of the cool areas.  It is 12:30pm and currently 86° with the forcast only for 87° I wonder.  Most of the heat is in the southeast at this time with still no sign of much rain anywhere, especially in the areas that need it the most.

As a Christian I pray, but I realize I never really pray about the weather.  I think this is a good time to start.  I wonder what would happen if everyone reading this blog prayed for rain.  It’s sort of like doing a little rain dance in your head, in the name of Jesus!
