ENTER, IF YOU DARE!

grimreaperglow-2 pumpkinrainbowHalloween used to be one of my Favorite Holidays when I was young, after Christmas of course.  Halloween is my oldest son’s favorite and he goes all out in decorating each year.  Sometimes including his own costumes, fave being Brandon Lee’s “The Crow.

As a child I lived near one of the oldest graveyards in the area with stones from the 1700’s at least.  A few of us used to go up there to read them.  Thanks to the television program I watched as a young teen, Dark Shadows, I thought cemeteries were very cool.  Ghosts anyone?

I had a very cool Halloween song that I might have shared before.  Starts with:

Jack ‘O Lanterns big black cats and witches that fly in the sky!

I'll get you my pretty, and your little guns too! (hope I don't get deleted)

Halloween also led us straight into the other holidays later on.  Used to be we kept the Halloween harvesty feeling way past Thanksgiving and I loved that.  I remember when Christmas didn’t really start til a week or two before Christmas.  Again, that was over 50 years ago and I don’t think that stores were even open on Sundays.  I think they started doing that in the late 60’s, some of them.  I love autumn!  It’s just a great time of year for so many reasons.

Weekly Photo Challenge: H2O is all Wet

Some say carbon is the basis of all life on earth, but I beg to differ. I believe that water, H2O is.

Can you go swimming in carbon?  Do you need 8 to 10 glasses of carbon a day?  Would you like to own some carbon front property one day?  I think I’ve made my point.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgia

“Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end!”

Not sure how many of you remember this song that was made popular in the 1960’s by Mary Hopkin.  Now that I am older I find it almost impossible not to burst into tears trying to sing it.  Check it out if you are not familiar with this song.  It’s all about nostalgia.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Quest to be the Best

Good Morning!

morninggloriesflare

My quest is to have the best blogs I can from this day forward. Now let’s see if I keep that promise. My goal had always been to provide needed information to others regarding many aspects of living in todays very confusing world, with a little entertainment and pretty pictures.

pearlsonbluebottlej

I want to give others ideas and shortcuts to living in a world that will rob you blind spiritually as well as financially. It was supposed to give definite tips to save money, offer suggestions to solve various lifestyle issues such as cooking, cleaning, decorating, gardening and crafting. I have really fallen short in this area because as my mother used to say “obviously, it’s too much like work” now.

Even though I have experienced the joys of motherhood myself, it was so many years ago this is definitely not a “mommy blog.”

I plan to have more recipes, gardening tips and photo enhancement tips from Photoshop, which I seldom use, Microsoft Photodraw the first photographic software I purchased and still us even though support stopped many years ago to Ulead PhotoImpact which has awsome particle effects like lighting and fog.

Thank you all for your patience and I hope you will enjoy the new, improved Po’ Girl Shines. I owe my faith and hope to Jesus. God bless you all. Peace to you all.
