In fact as many times as I have been down in life with financial problems,
physical ailments,
depression,
the sin of growing old in a vain culture
and various dealings with the fickle finger of fate.
There is a core of strength and protection all around me. It is called faith. Faith from the living Word that never fails.
There is help. We were sent a comforter, the Holy Spirit, to guide and comfort the children of God after Jesus was crucified.
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
John 16:9-11
No better time to relax than when you get snowed in. You can relax, take a nap or watch TV, read a book or just play on the computer. You could also freak out and pace the floors knowing that you are trapped like a rat.
Great time to overeat or you could just work out. Many years ago I would be working out. Today I baked an almond tart for the first time. I found some recipe online for a Lemon-Almond tart. Did not sound like a great combo to me, though I love both by themselves. Turned it into an Almond Tart recipe with only had 4 ingredients. Pleasant flavor and quite dense but should be gluten-free with no flour.
4 eggs 1 C almond meal
1/3 C sugar 1/3 C almond flavored creamer
Mix eggs and sugar then add the almond meal/ground almonds then blend in the flavored creamer Butter and flour tart or tiara pan Bake at 350° for 15 minutes Dust with powdered sugar as desired.
Relaxing with more comfort food.

| and simmered for additional 20 minutes til done. | ||||

| 1 C flour | 1/2 C cornmeal | pinch salt | ||
| 1 Tb baking powder | 3 Tb oil | 2/3 C milk | ||
For someone who has always lived in the northern area of the country, it’s not this time of year without snow & icy roads so be careful if you share this part of the world.
For most of us, it’s the start of the holiday or Christmas season. I used to say happy holidays before it almost became illegal to say Merry Christmas. I found this cartoon a few years ago, so appropriate!

Halloween used to be one of my Favorite Holidays when I was young, after Christmas of course. Halloween is my oldest son’s favorite and he goes all out in decorating each year. Sometimes including his own costumes, fave being Brandon Lee’s “The Crow.“

As a child I lived near one of the oldest graveyards in the area with stones from the 1700’s at least. A few of us used to go up there to read them. Thanks to the television program I watched as a young teen, Dark Shadows, I thought cemeteries were very cool. Ghosts anyone?
I had a very cool Halloween song that I might have shared before. Starts with:

Halloween also led us straight into the other holidays later on. Used to be we kept the Halloween harvesty feeling way past Thanksgiving and I loved that. I remember when Christmas didn’t really start til a week or two before Christmas. Again, that was over 50 years ago and I don’t think that stores were even open on Sundays. I think they started doing that in the late 60’s, some of them. I love autumn! It’s just a great time of year for so many reasons.

Some say carbon is the basis of all life on earth, but I beg to differ. I believe that water, H2O is.
Can you go swimming in carbon? Do you need 8 to 10 glasses of carbon a day? Would you like to own some carbon front property one day? I think I’ve made my point.
Not sure how many of you remember this song that was made popular in the 1960’s by Mary Hopkin. Now that I am older I find it almost impossible not to burst into tears trying to sing it. Check it out if you are not familiar with this song. It’s all about nostalgia.
